Ilona

Hey y’all! My name is Ilona (that’s i-l-o-n-a, people have been misspelling it), and I am your host for Country Love with Ilona also know as Country Love Radio. I started to this show in September 2008 and I am thrilled to say that our 4th anniversary is coming up and I love doing the show more and more as time goes on.

Born and raised in NY I wasn’t always a country music fan, but sometime during high school I realized that the music playing on the radio was lacking something for me. I love music and I love what music can do for you, I learned that lyrics rank very high along with the composition of the song, at least for me. My love of country probably started with Faith Hill then Rascal Flatts and then I just needed more, so I started loading up on Country and it went from there.

After growing up in New York people are shocked to find out what a Country Music fan I am, but let me tell you, there are a lot of closeted country fans in NYC, let’s go people, it’s 2012, come out of the closet and embrace your redneck side… I have! In 2004 I moved to Israel and was lucky enough to meet and gain some amazing friends who are apart of the Rock4Rookies network, including our founding DJ and fearless leader Maximum Mike. I was honored to be approached to do the country show for his website and I’ve never looked back. This opportunity has also led me to start blogging about country music and has sparked other projects that I am currently working on.
Since starting the show, I have moved back to New York, I’ve had the opportunity to see some of my favorite artists in concert and hope to continue doing what I love… sharing the best music in the world with the best fans in the world.

Currently living in NY, working for the Alexander Muss High School in Israel and coaching girls sports teams, while getting ready to follow my dreams!

“If you talk bad about country music, it’s like saying bad things about my momma. Them’s fightin’ words”
― Dolly Parton
